Drug-Eluting Balloons Are Promising for Claudicants

In a blog post on the VDM clinical blog this month, editor in chief Frank J. Criado, MD, FACS, FSVM, described recent data published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology in March on paclitaxel-eluting balloons (PEBs). The study was a non-industry sponsored independent, prospective, multicenter registry that aimed to assess clinical outcomes of femoropopliteal angioplasty with the In.Pact Admiral PEB by Medtronic, and results indicated that the treatment could be a viable option for patients with claudication.

Read “Drug-Eluting Balloon Angioplasty in the Femoropopliteal Segment: Appealing Option for Claudicants” by Dr. Criado for more information on this study.
