The Aiken Standard reported today that a plane crash in Georgia took the life of vascular surgeon Steven Roth, MD, of Vein Guys, as well as members of his staff. Nurse anesthetist Lisa Volpitto and secretary Kim Davidson were also killed in the crash.
Dr. Roth was a published author in the endovenous radio frequency ablation technique and educated physicians on the treatment of venous reflux disease. Dr. Roth led the Vein Guys practice, seeing patients in several practice locations. He was well known in his community.

According to news reports, investigators do not yet know why the plane aborted its landing near Augusta, Georgia. VDM shares its condolences with the families and loved ones of Dr. Roth and his colleagues.
