The FDA Approval of 14F EVAR

In the editorial for the December 2012 issue of Vascular Disease Management, editor-in-chief Frank J. Criado, MD, FACS, FSVM, discusses how the FDA approval of the TriVascular Ovation stent graft system will affect endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR). The Ovation stent’s low profile could expand treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysm to patients who otherwise couldn’t be treated with EVAR.

“This is much smaller than anything we have ever had access to and may well change the abdominal aortic aneurysm treatment landscape significantly as adoption increases rapidly in the foreseeable future,” said Dr. Criado.
